Admission, Tuition & Fees

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma, GED, or college diploma
  • U.S. Citizen, or a non-citizen who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence
  • Ability to participate and complete all requirements of the Asheville School of Massage & Yoga
  • Ability to pay all fees

ADMISSION PROCESS

Applications for admission are accepted year round. Our class size is limited to 24 students, with a 16:1 ratio for hands-on classes; students are encouraged to submit their completed application as soon as possible. Once classes are full, accepted students will be placed on a waiting list. In order to be considered for admission, students must submit the following:

  • A $50 application fee
  • A completed application form
  • A copy of birth certificate or valid driver’s license
  • A copy of H.S. or college diploma or transcripts or GED certificate

After the above requirements have been received, applicants will be contacted to arrange for a personal interview. If it will place undue hardship upon the applicant to travel to the interview, a phone interview will be conducted in its place. The Asheville School of Massage & Yoga is open to all prospective students who meet the above requirements and illustrate through their references and interview moral character and an ability to complete the program. SCHOLARSHIPS & DISCOUNTS

In an effort to help our students afford their education at Asheville School of Massage & Yoga we offer a variety of discounts, scholarships, and payment assistance methods. Students who make the most of these offerings will be surprised at how affordable massage school can be. Please contact the school to find out which of the following applies to you. Scholarships and discounts may not be combined.

Commit Early Tuition Discount

Open to students who enroll at least 4 months prior to the start date of the program. Students receive a $1,000 tuition discount by paying a non-refundable $1,000 enrollment fee ($500 of that fee will be credited toward tuition 2 months into the program).

Pre-payment Discounts

Receive up to $1,000 off your tuition price by pre-paying.

  • Pay tuition in full 90 days prior to start date: $1,000 discount (tuition total $5,850)
  • Pay tuition in full 60 days prior to start date: $500 discount (tuition total $6,350)
  • Pay tuition in full 30 days prior to start date: $250 discount (tuition total $6,600)
$500 Academic Scholarship

We appreciate the discipline required to earn high grades. In celebration of the commitment to academic excellence, we offer a maximum of 5 Academic Scholarships per program to students based on their most recent GPA. In order to be selected for this scholarship, students must be accepted into the program, pay the enrollment fee, and prove their most recent GPA is 3.5 or higher in the form of sealed transcripts.

To apply for this scholarship, students must write a letter stating their desire to be considered for the scholarship and have a sealed copy of their most recent transcript sent to the school.

$1250 On the Yoga Path Scholarship

As a recognition of previous study in the field of yoga, we will award a maximum of 4 scholarships per program ($1,250 each) to students who have completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance approved teacher training program.

To apply for this scholarship, students must write a letter stating their desire to be considered for the scholarship and provide a copy of their certificate.

$1500 Work Study Scholarship

The school offers a maximum of 4 work study scholarships per program equal to $1500 off of the total tuition amount. The students selected will be required to volunteer no less than 2 hours per week at the school doing odd jobs such as: straightening and cleaning the school premises, watering plants, restocking supplies, and washing yoga mats and yoga blankets.

In addition to cleaning the school after each class day, the work study students will be required to help out with light office duties 8-10 hours per month (approximately 2 hours/week) while they are in the program. Students will build their professionalism skills in the office setting with tasks that include but are not limited to: answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, taking payment, and promoting the student clinic. Office work shifts will be scheduled up to a month in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate student’s schedules.

PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

Flexible In-house Payment Plan
  • No interest
  • Flexible schedule of payments - you decide how much you can afford to pay each month. Certificates are issued once the program has been successfully completed and the tuition plus payment plan administrative fee ($500) is paid in full.
Vocational Rehab

Qualifying students pay less than half price tuition + $0 for massage table and supplies

TEXTBOOKS, SUPPLIES & OTHER EXPENSES

Applicants are to submit an application and the application fee ($50). Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by mail. In order to enroll students must submit a $500 non-refundable fee and sign an enrollment agreement.

  • Required textbooks cost approximately $355
  • Linens, twin size mattress pad cover, oils and oil holster cost approximately $85
  • Massage tables cost between $300-$700 (student discounts apply to tables bought from the school)

REFUND POLICY

  • Application fees, enrollment fees, financing fees, and all books and equipment purchased are non-refundable.
  • Students who withdraw up to 72 hours after signing the enrollment agreement are entitled to a full refund of all money paid toward tuition.
  • Students who withdraw thereafter are entitled to refunds based on the percentage of the program actually completed.
  • Refunds may be granted for up to and including 25% of the program and shall be calculated from the last date of attendance and made within 30 days of the date of withdrawal or dismissal
  • Students who withdraw after the first quarter (25% of the program) are not entitled to a refund.
