Ayurveda for the Creative Person
Creative individuals tend to have a combination of playfulness and discipline, an abundance of energy but also a need for quiet and rest, and a propensity to alternate between being rooted in a sense of reality and flying with their imagination. This workshop will offer an Ayurvedic approach to understanding creative energy and balancing these tendencies.
Spend the morning with Jamie Knox as she blends her experience as an actor, singer, director, and playwright with a knowledge of Ayurveda and yoga to help harness your creative potential.
Specifically we will explore how to:
- Be more creative: Certain times of day, seasons, activities and foods get those creative juices flowing. Come find out what those are.
- Avoid the self sabotage: Being creative is tough enough. Get out of your own way.
- Heal what needs healing and move on: You don’t have to be broken to be a creative person.
- Know your worth: Invest in your own self worth by staying balanced.
Dialogue about your own specific creative process and connect with other creative individuals. Learn strategies to cultivate fresh perceptions and insightful judgements so you can make important discoveries to share with the world through your craft. You will receive suggestions for diet, lifestyle, and herbs as well as instruction on meditation, breath work, stones, oils, and mantras to help achieve and maintain balance.
This is a community workshop open to the public and a non-credit course. Prior knowledge of Ayurveda is not necessary. Basic Ayurveda theory will be discussed and woven into each activity.
