Integrating the Emotional Body

Date: October 10-12, 2014 (Fri. 1-6pm, Sat. & Sun. 9-6pm)

CE Hours: 21

Cost: $375.00

Instructor: Pripo Teplitsky,

This course focuses on the art of integrating the physical and emotional body through massage and intentional touch. Emotions affect our physical bodies as much as our body affects our feelings and thinking. Emotions that are not felt and released stay buried in the body.

The emotional body is a great place to start seeking information as well as determine where to begin healing, it is one of the primary places that we can work on clearing in order to improve our overall state of well-being. As massage therapists we also need to be well-versed in our own relationship with our emotions.

Using a combination of demonstration, group encounter processing, lecture and “hands on” practice, the focus will be on “integrating the emotional body” through the teachings of mindfulness and quality of touch as well as energy psychology and various somatic therapies, we will give special attention to the balance between technique, intuition, and creativity. This course is taught by a licensed psychotherapist as well as a certified Esalen massage practitioner.

Students please bring a set of sheets, blanket, massage lotion and pillow/bolster.
