“We become traumatized when our ability to respond to a perceived threat is in some way overwhelmed”-Peter Levine
Have you ever had a client who was hypersensitive, overly emotional or controlling? Trauma shows itself in a variety of subtle and not so subtle ways, such as mood swings, collapsed posture, addiction, and insomnia, along with a host of other symptoms. This can keep our clients from experiencing the full benefits of massage and deep relaxation.
Through lecture, demonstration, and practice you will learn to identify and work with the trauma response
You will learn a repertoire of Esalen massage techniques and mindfulness practices to hold space for yourself and your client.
After this weekend you will have the tools to help your clients move through the trauma response so they can then enjoy the benefits of massage.
