Ayurvedic Clinical Mentorship and Refining Case Taking Skills
This course of study is designed for Ayurvedic Wellness Counselors and Practitioners looking to deepen their knowledge of Ayurveda in clinical practice.
Once a month over the course of 7 months, the mentorship group will meet via live video conference to receive practical and informative lectures on key Ayurvedic topics as well as participate in case presentations with roundtable discussions. Lecture topics will include in-depth dosha/dhatu/sroto vijnanam, Ayurvedic pharmacology, Ayurvedic psychological approaches and more.
Additionally, the following concepts will be woven throughout class lectures and discussions:
- Refinement of case taking skills
- Advanced understanding of the Prakruti and Vikruti paradigm
- Prioritizing and mapping out treatment
- Optimal herbal selection
- Principles of herbal synergy
- Custom herbal compounding
- Exploring classical formulas
- Proper dosage and timings of administration
- Anupanas and yogavahis
Pre-requisites: Participants must have an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor certification. They must also be currently working with clients on a one-on-one basis and willing to share details of at least one such case during class with the client’s permission.
Attendance Policy: Attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Only one video conference may be missed. If a video conference is missed, the student must listen to a recording of the class and write a paper demonstrating their understanding of the material covered. If more than one class is missed the student will not receive credit for the course. This style of mentorship is based on student participation. Being present for each class allows for a richer and more meaningful experience for all.
Cost: Early bird – enroll by September 17th and pay $315. After September 17th, the price is $350.

About the instructor
Vishnu Dass A.D, LMBT
Vishnu Dass is an Ayurvedic Doctor level member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association with over two decades of clinical experience. He received his Ayurvedic training under the guidance of world-renowned Ayurvedic physician Dr. Vasant Lad and is a graduate of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque. During and after his training he worked in the panchakarma department of the Ayurvedic Institute under Dr. Lad's supervision. He now serves as Dean of Education and Lead Instructor for the Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor program at the Asheville School of Massage & Yoga. Vishnu Dass is a former board member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. He is the owner and director of Blue Lotus Ayurveda, located in Asheville, NC, as well as the author of Ayurvedic Herbology East & West, a Practical Guide to Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine.
