Professional Ethics for Bodyworkers (Online)
This class is designed to fulfill 3 hours of continuing education in ethics requirement for NCBTMB Standard V and North Carolina massage and bodywork licensing. Referencing North Carolina as well as the NCBTMB code of ethics, participants will learn the basics of client- practitioner dynamics and why professional boundaries are so important to protect both our clients and ourselves.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will learn how to create safe relationships by exploring the following topics:
- common dilemmas and how to solve them
- dealing with sexual issues, boundaries
- confidentiality
- business practices/policies
- draping
- scope of practice
- dual relationships
- transference and counter-transference

About the instructor
Pripo Teplitsky, MA, LPC
Pripo Teplitsky, MA, LPC, offers a diverse practice that balances the connection between mind, body and spirit. He was a practicing massage and bodywork therapist for 18 years. He also holds a master’s degree in psychology & counseling (graduate coursework included human sexuality, sexual identity, sex therapy) and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina. Pripo has a private practice in Asheville, NC in counseling practice specializing in relationship issues. He lived, studied and worked at the Esalen Institute, a renowned human potential learning center in Big Sur, CA, and is a certified Esalen massage practitioner. Pripo also teaches Professional Ethics courses and Somatic Psychology at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. His main goal is to help support people to live in their truth and authenticity.
